"This was a great course. I can already identify several people I'd like to try this with and my mind is starting to process ways of using the information it provides. Content was simple and easy enough to imagine applying."

"Excellent course! I want to reiterate how great the training was. Even though I've been playing with the Birkman scores for over a decade, there were some really valuable insights in your training material for me, both in working with young folks but also in general when using the full Birkman data."

"The training was not only solid in terms of the content preparing me for my initial consultations with students-mentees, it also clarified and reinforced the concepts."

Much more than just learning to use a tool, this training will develop your professional practice and grow you in your understanding of the broad range of perspectives and reactions you encounter in your work.

Some young people respond well to you and some respond badly. In large part this can be because they simply have different Needs. While your Usual style will work well for some it will frustrate and offend others.

For example, some young people want you to be straight up with them, others need you to use sensitivity when you communicate - and both may lash out or react badly if you don't get it right.

Having objective data to tell you what each individual will value from you? That's pure gold.

Programme Outline:

We approach this training from the perspective of a Professional Development programme because we believe that understanding the power of your own report will put you in the best position to help others. That's why our primary aim is for you to get great value out of this report for yourself, and to leave the programme feeling that you have a clearer understanding of the unique value you can bring to all that you do.

Here’s a quick rundown of what we cover during the training:

  • We start the day by handing out your Kokkoi: Grow Reports and getting to know each other

  • We’ll then dig into the Interest Scores from your report, using a mixture of small group discussion and a whole group activity to talk about these scores, how they play out, and how we all differ in the things that matter to us the most.

  • We’ll also cover applications of this data and how it can have a huge impact on engagement, resilience and well-being

Morning Break

  • After the morning break we’ll move on to looking at the Map Report, and talking about how we each perceive and respond to the world around us.

  • We’ll teach you principles for how to read the Map, and then dig into some small group discussions and a whole group activity to talk through our similarities and differences and how these can be turned to strengths.

Lunch Break

  • Before lunch the focus was on understanding the data, after lunch we’ll shift to more of a focus on application, and turning what we’ve learnt into actionable insights.

  • We’ll talk about the narrative of your reports and how this can give you a language for expressing what matters to you, and why you struggle in certain situations and thrive in others. It will also give you keys to self-management and mitigating stress behaviour when things aren’t going so well.

  • We’ll end the session by inviting you to share a highlight or key takeaway from the day, and how you plan to apply this in your life or work.

FAQs

What is the Kokkoi Grow Report and how can I use it?

Find out more about the Kokkoi Grow Report here, or check out our FAQs relating specifically to the report here.
Does Kokkoi Facilitator Training give me access to anything other than the Grow Report?

Yes! We've designed 'Grow' to grow with you and your young people, with additional application reports, topical workbooks and practical support. The Kokkoi: Grow eco-system also includes advanced data services to help schools, youth organisations and service providers make sense of their young people.
Can my team do this training as a professional development programme?

For sure! Even if you don't have opportunity to use the Kokkoi Grow Report with young people at the moment, this training is a great option for a professional development programme for your team. Contact us to discuss what we can do for you.
I have worked with many personality assessments, what makes the Kokkoi Grow Report any different?

This Kokkoi Grow Report is powered by Birkman data, and if you know anything about The Birkman Method Assessment you probably already know that it's the best there is in the field of psychometric assessment. That's why we use it, and that's why we don't bother with anything else - we just haven't found anything that can compare to the accuracy, longevity and applicability of Birkman. Both at the individual and group data level it is an incredibly powerful tool, and we are passionate about harnessing that depth of insight and making it available to young people.

I'm a Birkman Certified Professional, do I need to do Facilitator Training to use the Kokkoi Grow Report?

If you are already a Birkman Certified Professional (BCP) then you'll definitely already be familiar with the data included in the Kokkoi Grow Report. However, we still encourage you to attend Facilitator Training. Why? Because using the Kokkoi Grow Report with a young person is very different to talking a working professional through their Birkman Signature Report, and we want to ensure that you not only understand the data, but also catch the heart of what we're doing here.
